Plantcraft
Limited Move to Four Acre Site
|
Plantcraft
Limited has recently acquired and moved to a large four acre site near Scunthorpe.
Redevelopment
of the site and offices is almost complete and Plantcraft's entire
operation is now centralised at this location.
The yard has been resurfaced and now provides good
hard standing throughout for the large selection of used vessels kept on
site.
Adjoining the site, a fabrication workshop with overhead
crane has been established where large capacity vessels are manufactured.
Neil
Vessey, Managing Director of Plantcraft Limited, welcomes visitors to view
the wide range of storage tanks available for hire. (Please click on
Plantcraft's address at the top left hand side of this screen for location

Equipment from Plantcraft
Limited was used in the James Bond film, 'Goldeneye'.
Much
of the filming was done in Hertfordshire and the large capacity cylindrical
storage tanks used to simulate a Russian nerve gas plant in the story
were hired from Plantcraft Limited.
The
James bond order came after the art director of the film production company
saw one of the Scunthorpe company's national advertisements and contacted
it about the tanks. Plantcraft subsequently supplied six 20,000 gallon
capacity storage tanks.
Managing Director, Mr Vessey, himself a film fan
said this was the most unusual use that had ever been made of his tanks.
He said "If the film is around as long as the old James Bond films
our storage tanks will be on view for the next 30 years or so".

Four of Plantcraft's
large capacity 20,000 gallon capacity storage tanks were loaned in Cornwall,
England for water storage over the August '99 eclipse period.
With
vast numbers of people visiting Cornwall at this time it was found that
there was a problem with waste water which had to be stored prior to disposal.

Storage
Tanks for Hire
(an extract from The Scunthorpe Evening Telegraph)
|
|
A Scunthorpe based company
operating throughout the UK is offering storage tanks for hire to a wide
range of businesses.
Plantcraft Limited of Flixborough
Industrial Estate, offers tanks of any transportable size ranging from
500 gallons to 20,000 gallons capacity.
The horizontal tanks come complete with
cradles to enable them to be used immediately on site.
They are for long or short term hire and
the range of tanks include those for oil products, effluents, and liquid
fertiliser. The business is owned and run by Neil Vessey and was set up
in the late 70's.
Mr Vessey said "we pride ourselves
on being able to offer a very quick service from our large stock of tanks
held on the Flixborough Industrial Estate".
He said that over the years the company
had expanded much more than he had initially envisaged and also into areas
not originally envisaged.
A change in recent times which has led to
significant work for Plantcraft has been in legislation on the disposal
of effluent and waste. This now has to be stored and made safe prior to
disposal.
